I grew up in Margaret River, WA living next to the beach and so my hobbies include all things coastal. From surfing, to snorkelling to ocean swimming, anything beach related keeps me happy. I also have a keen interest in nature walks and running trails as well as a recent interest in Pilates. Other hobbies include vintage markets and Op shopping, as I love finding hidden treasures.
In 2017 I became registered with AHPRA as Nurse. I am originally from Western Australia and so completed my Graduate Nursing Program at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth. On my Grad program I worked for 6 months on a general medical ward and then 6 months on an orthopaedic surgical ward. Following this, I gained employment at the hospital on the Medical Assessment Unit and worked there for 9 months before sitting the GAMSAT and moving to Melbourne. In Victoria I worked as a Nurse at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in the Radiology department, assisting in both diagnostic and
interventional areas for 9 months before being accepted to study medicine at UOW and moving to NSW.
After having some exposure to variety of specialties in both my nursing career and medical placements, I have developed a keen interest in both Emergency Medicine and General Practice. I like the idea of being the first clinician to interact, assess and provide care for anyone presenting to a healthcare setting. I also like the wide variety of presentations seen in both fields, it will ensure I'm constantly learning new things.
